Nobyuya Yamaguchi is a sculptor, musician and designer that explores
the relation of sound and form, Nobuya was born in Tokyo and studied
metal sculpture in Tamagawa Univrsity He became a member of Ein-Hod
in 1991and since then lives with his family in the village.
Environmental sculpture and functional works always attracted him.
People can use and enjoy them in their daily life.
Nobuya ‘s functional works such as the forged metal gate of
Ein-Hod exemplifies
the open art arms of the village to it’s visitors.
His works in schools such as Misgav-“Talking stones”
offer the children a space for listening and communicating while
sitting inside the stones.
He participated in many exhibitions and symposiums in Israel and
abroad and since
2003 discovered the magical sounds of steel pan-a unique melodic
percussion instrument and studied the art of pan making in Japan
from Trinidad Master- Michael Robinson.
Nobuya finds great joy in creating, tuning and playing this instruments,
and is performing with other musicians, dancers.
Musical sculptures are naturally the ultimate harmony of sound and
form, enjoyed by the public. His activities include workshops of
metal sculpture, music performances and lectures. |
